Big events don’t get much bigger than a family event for 3 generations of 60 extended family members from around the world! But after 3 years apart, it was well worth the time & effort organising this memorable day.
Most of the Ho family live in Edmonton so a yearly get-together in Laurier Park is an annual event, and this year family from Hong Kong were also able to make it. The event started at 4pm with a mouth-watering potluck of international foods; samosas, deep-fried chicken wings, and dad’s cooking up smokies. The older “kids” prepped food for the adults & the little kids, while the younger kids (i.e. the 3rd generation) enjoyed playing football, volleyball, and badminton.
Watching the fun & games were the puppies and soon-to-be moms who were enjoying having the time to chat & laugh. There was also a lot of laughter from the older adults as they chatted in Cantonese & made fun of their kids.
I am humbled to have captured the family enjoying their time together. From the potluck to s’mores to the younger kids heading off to the river to get their feet wet, it was a day of fun, laughter & memories.
Thank you ALL for sharing your family reunion with me! The outdoor games were a blast, but for me it was capturing all the interactions and sweet moments shared that won the day.
A huge well done to the organisers – all your planning was a huge success!
Cheers!
